Michael H. Huo, M.D., is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Huo is active in education of orthopaedic surgery residents. He received the Teaching in Excellence Award from the orthopaedic surgery residents in 2007 and the Pete Matsen Award for teaching excellence in 2008. Dr. Huo received his B.S. in Biology in 1977 at Lewis and Clark College. In 1979, he obtained an M.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Hawaii. He then attended George Washington University School of Medicine where he graduated in 1984 with his Medical Degree. Dr. Huo is involved with several national and state orthopaedic associations. He is on the Board of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He does editorial review panel work for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, the Journal of Arthroplasty and Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research. He is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and American Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Huo also is on the Steering Committee for multi-national clinical trials with Boehringer-Ingelheim for thrombosis research. Dr. Huo is married to Connie and has four children.
