Dr. David Podeszwa is a staff orthopaedist at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he attended the University of Michigan and earned his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. Dr. Podeszwa completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed an AO ASIF International Fellowship in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Bern, Inselspital. Dr. Podeszwa completed the Dorothy and Bryant Edwards Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics and Scoliosis at TSRHC in 2001 under the direction of Dr. Tony Herring. He is an associate professor in the department of orthopaedics at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and on the medical staff of Children’s Medical Center Dallas. Before coming to TSRHC, Dr. Podeszwa was an active staff member in the department of orthopaedic surgery at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He is a member of the AO ASIF Alumni Association and a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a reviewer for Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research and the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
